What is Tech Crew?

The Auditorium Tech Crew is in charge of building sets for and working the musicals within our wonderful auditorium. Additionally, the group also assists at things like band concerts, choir concerts, meetings, and other events that occur within the auditorium. The Auditorium Tech Crew gives students a lot of opportunities to learn and develop skills like building, set design, painting, light design, sound design, and more. However, this club takes up a lot of time and energy. So, if you decide to join, make sure you have enough time cleared from your schedule and ensure that you're willing and able to work long musicals, and spend a lot of time building sets.

During shows, the Auditorium Tech Crew staff are each assigned a role to help run the show. Some of the musical positions consist of Stage Manager, Lighting Manager, Sound Manager, Spotlight Operator, Sound Assistant, Assistant Stage Manager, and more. Each role is crucial to performance and outcome of the musical. Therefore, those in the important positions typically need to be well-knowledged on the position that they retain. Additionally, traits like quick thinking, organization, and more are all very helpful when it comes to running a show.

The Auditorium Tech Crew gives students a lot of experience within their position which could come in handy if they plan to work a relevant job in the future. For example, the Lighting Manager could graduate and get a position in a theatre or traveling show that is lighting-related. Therefore, this group gives students a lot of experience and fun within various different positions.
